NOTE: In order to be eligible for the 2009 TOP 8, club dues must
be paid NO
LATER than
December, 2008 meeting.
After normal business, discussion was focused
on how to improve club participation.
Attending
members in attendance struggled to define
what our club needs to be. Answers to
these problems
could best be answered by the members
that do not attend. A multitude of
suggestions were offered
on how to improve participation these
included; pick your partner tournaments, lowering the number of
tournaments, fishing lakes closer to home to
reduce cost, beefing up participation in the TOP 8 program,
lowering dues, recruiting new members and
increasing non-fishing activities that would include the whole
family.
One fact is clear, some major changes for the club will be occurring in
2009.
Reasons for non-participation are
much easier to find that solutions. The
club needs input from every
member and is actively seeking your
opinions. Please let your ideas and
wishes be known.
Following the previous discussion a
presentation was given on Finesse Fishing.
It was announced that
the topic for our September, 2008
meeting will be “Fall Migration”. The
meeting was the adjourned.
NOTE: We are coming up on nominations for all offices and
committees. Also as the season winds
down we
will be putting the TOP 8 team together for 2009.
*The annual Christmas
Banquet will be held
